RateStream Rates Not Displaying Due to Security or IP Restrictions

Overview

In some cases, RateStream rates may not appear on your website immediately after installation. This is most commonly due to security or IP restrictions set by your organization or hosting provider.

This is normal behavior and something we see regularly when new third-party tools are added to a credit union website. Once the proper domain is whitelisted, rates will display as expected.

Why This Happens

RateStream works by:

  • Loading rates dynamically from the RateStream app

  • Referencing those rates using a unique ID embedded directly on your website

For example:

<stream-cell uid="r-028" col="c-004"></stream-cell>

If your site has security rules that block external applications, the RateStream service may be prevented from loading — causing rates to appear blank or not render at all.

Impact on Members

  • This issue does not typically affect members (as the IP restrictions are set internally)

  • Once whitelisting is complete, rates load normally with no ongoing performance or security concerns

  • No rate data is stored on the website itself — it is securely pulled from RateStream in real time

How to Resolve the Issue

To fix this, your IT or security team will need to whitelist the RateStream application domain.

Information to Share with Your IT Team

You can copy and paste the following message:

We use RateStream to manage and display rates on our website.
RateStream content is being blocked by our current security/IP restrictions.

Please whitelist the following domains to allow RateStream rates to render properly:

https://app.ratestream.io/
https://components.ratestream.io/

RateStream is loaded via a site plugin and uses custom HTML elements (e.g. <stream-cell>) to dynamically display rates.

Once this domain is allowed, no additional configuration is typically required.

Still Not Seeing Rates?

If rates do not appear after whitelisting:

  • Clear your site cache (if applicable)

  • Confirm the RateStream plugin is active

  • Reach out to our support team and we’re happy to assist
